The city of Santa Clarita reached a milestone Dec. 15, with the celebration of its 25th birthday.

Over the last 25 years of cityhood, Santa Clarita has seen its share of highlights and dark times, and City Mayor Bob Kellar has been a resident through it all.

Kellar reflects on his memories of Santa Clarita, from his childhood visits to the leadership that helped make it the third largest city in Los Angeles County.
