It is rare that a client asks for a blue color palette in my Santa Clarita business. The most requested paint colors are in the warm beige tones.
I suggest you consider blue for a master bedroom or guest room, or powder room. Blue looks great coupled with any wood tone, making
it a great choice for a family room or living room as well.
If you are looking for a calming feeling to a room, blue can delivery that! Boring, never, calming… yes, in the right shade.
I prefer a lot of gray in my blue paint colors. With that in mind, here are three shades of blue for you to consider for your home.
1. Sherwin Williams SW6204 “Sea Salt.” Choose this hue if soft and soothing is the feeling you’d like to create. It reminds me of sea glass in that it can look green or blue, depending on the light and what you accessorize with. I suggest soft beige with this color.
2. Benjamin Moore’s “Harbor Haze” 2136-60. Glam up your blue with this oceanic blue. You’ll have a sophisticated feel if you pair this wall color with a palette of pearl white and silver.
3. Dunn Edward’s “Afternoon Sky” DE5878. For an uplifting color scheme in a kid’s room, game room or family room, consider this shade for the walls. Mix and mingle with yellow accessories and textured neutrals such as a sisal rug.
