Here is this week's fishing report for KHTS AM 1220:
1) Castaic Lake....Lots of school sized stripers are still biting; try Dry Gulch, the Buoy Line or the Marina. For both trout and bass, try fishing Eucalyptus Point, Hawks Nest and Campsite A. For catfish try Campsite B and C or the old standby......the Buoy Line.
2) Pyramid Lake....For shore anglers, the shallow water is still producing a decent bass bite. For boaters, try the deeper water. That deep water near the Dam is also holding trout, small stripers and both species of largemouth and smallmouth bass. Catfish are biting in the Coves.
3) Lake Piru....Reasoner Cove and and the Narrows are still producing crappie up to 2 pounds. Redear and bluegill are also biting. Bass fishing and other species has slowed.
4) Lake Cachuma....Try the 20-25 foot depth near the Dam for some trout, along with Harveys or Mohawk..... an 8 pound trout was caught on Saturday! Crappie are biting at Cachuma Bay, the Narrows and Santa Cruz Bay. Bass are biting best in the early AM or late afternoon in 15 feet of water or less.
It was only a matter of time.....the white seabass have finally arrived for the overnight boats!
