The California Highway Patrol is reporting that one person has died as a result of a collision north of Castaic on Lake Hughes Road near mile marker 19.04.
The victim of the crash, who was driving a silver Honda sedan, was identified as Tyler Matthew Lynch, 20, of Leona Valley.

The crash was reported Monday at 6:56 a.m. and involved a silver Honda (driven by Lynch) and a Los Angeles County public works truck. Coroner's officials were dispatched at about 7:45 a.m. and arrived around 11 a.m.
According to CHP Officer John Lutz, Lynch's Honda crossed the double yellow line for an unknown reason.
The driver of the county Public Works truck attempted to avoid a collision and went all the way to the right shoulder of the road, but was struck by the Honda as it traveled toward the embankment. The county truck rolled over in the roadway, and the Honda went over the side of the road. Lynch was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP is investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact their Newhall office at 661-294-5540.
