As the weather warms and we move into spring, wouldn't it be nice to have a backyard oasis... a place you go relax, read a book, meditate or take a nap?
In today's article, I'll show you how to create a spot in your garden that will call to you on a warm breezy afternoon, so go buy that book this weekend!
Wouldn't you love to turn part of your backyard into the perfect lounging spot? It is easier than you think. I have designed many outdoor rooms for my SCV clients, and they always comment on how they use the outdoor space so much more, and truly enjoy relaxing in a natural setting.
Follow my steps to create your exotic garden spot!
X Marks The Spot
Spend some time in your back or side yard and determine a quiet spot that would suit your needs. I always recommend a spot that allows you to walk away from the house, deeper into the garden, and look back at your beautiful home.
Create Some Shade
Shade is essential in SCV to enjoy outdoor spaces in the summer. Shade can be created by planting some trees, a patio cover or gazebo. Pop up shade umbrellas are an option, however SCV wind can be brutle, so be sure it has a strong anchor.
Add A Water Feature
The sound of trickling water in a small fountain instills calmess and beauty for your oasis. These can be purchased at the big box stores to be stand alone plug in units. Consider matching the style of your home and garden when selecting your water feature. If you are traditional, select a simple stone fountain.
Take A Seat
Shop for the perfect seating to make your oasis functional and stylish. This is the perfect time of year to shop Target and Costco and Sam's club for outdoor furniture. You may luck out and find seating that has shading such as the canopy daybed in the photo.
No matter your design style, I would be delighted to create an exotic garden nook for your enjoyment.
