Giddy Up For Acton Riding Trails [1]

Tue, 05/31/2011 - 7:30pm  |  Mark Archuleta [2]

county_sealThe Acton/Agua Dulce area is nothing if not horse country.

Residents would find themselves back in the saddle again if a new resolution passes at the County Board of Supervisors meeting today that would set aside a portion of county-owned property for riding and hiking trails along Crown Valley Road in Acton.

There would be no hitch in the giddy-up with previous agreements since this proposal would reportedly satisfy the street and trail dedication requirements as part of the completed Acton/Agua Dulce Library Project.

The approximately 2,397 square feet set aside for riding and hiking trail purposes will be maintained by the Department of Parks and Recreation and become part of the County trails master plan to be known as Vasquez Loop Trail.

The 2,000 square feet set aside for public road and highway purposes will be maintained by the Department of Public Works and become part of the public right of way to be known as Crown Valley Road, which is already a part of the County's road system.

County officials say the project would have no impact on the county general fund.
