UPDATED 12:27 p.m. Tuesday
The driver of a 1999 Mercedes Benz remains hospitalized in critical condition after Monday's midafternoon traffic collision.
Davida Sullivan, 30, was driving southbound on McBean Parkway shortly after 3:15 p.m. Monday, when she allegedly turned left into the Ralph's market parking lot, in front of a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by James Blake, 35, an off-duty sheriff's deputy. Blake was unable to avoid hitting Sullivan's car and the two collided.
Two lanes of McBean Parkway at Summerhill Drive were closed for several hours Monday afternoon for the accident investigation. Both Sullivan and Blake were taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
