If your home is like mine, the entryway is visible from the living room, kitchen, staircase and upstairs hallway. With a family of five, it is a challenge to manage the shoes, schoolbooks, keys and purses that land right near our front door. Sound familiar?
In today's article, I offer you some great design ideas to turn that messy entryway into an organized, efficient and functional space that you will be proud to see when you walk in the door at the end of a long day.
How would you like to turn a wall near your entry door into a lovely vignette that functions on several levels? These three items added at your entry are going to really do the trick!
1. Versatile Seating: This bench provides a place to sit comfortably and put on, or take off shoes. The same bench can be pulled into the living room when guest arrive for added seating. Don't you just love pieces that serve two or more purposes?
2. Reflection: Expand the space in your entry with a wall mounted mirror. Last looks before leaving the house are easy with this large mirror, the fabric on the matting matches the cushion on the bench. Very French!
3. Must Have Storage: Show those shoes who's boss! This large, deep basket is the perfect container to hide the many shoes that collect at the front door each day. My family knows where to find them, though I am still training them on how to put them away at the end of the day.
