The Hart baseball team beat Saugus, 7-2, scoring four runs in fifth inning on a soggy day at Hart High School.
Connor O’Brien drove in two runs for Hart. Luke Persico and Alex Tenorio knocked in a pair of runs in the fifth-inning rally.
Connor Wilson gave Saugus a short-lived 2-1 lead with an RBI double in the third inning.
The Valencia baseball team shut out Golden Valley, 10-0. Vikings starter Jake Roberge pitched a five-hitter with six strikeouts. Quincy Quintero was 3-for-4 with a home run and drove in three runs.
Valencia scored seven runs in the fourth inning, when Quintero hit a solo home run and knocked in two runs with a single later in the same inning.
The Hart boys swim team beat Valencia, 91-79, in a Foothill League meet. The Hart girls were 108-62 winners over Valencia at the same meet.
The Canyon boys swim team beat Golden Valley, 111-59. The Canyon girls beat Golden Valley 127-42.
The Master’s College baseball team lost to Cal Baptist, 8-2. Cody Harris was 2-for-4 for The Master’s College. Chris Talley and Joe Riddle each drove in a run.
Zach Esquerra hit a solo home run, his 13th of the season, for Cal Baptist, the third-ranked team in the NAIA.
The Dodgers roughed up the Chicago White Sox, 6-2, in spring training in Arizona. Matt Kemp hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning, Juan Uribe had two hits, drove in a run and scored a run. Dodgers starter Ted Lilly pitched six strong innings, giving up two runs on six hits and struck out five.
The Kings are home tonight for a game against the San Jose Sharks. The Kings called up Oscar Moller to replace the injured Justin Williams, who separated his shoulder in the game against the Calgary Flames on Monday night.
The Kings have won five of their past seven games. The Sharks beat the Flames, 6-3, last night and have won four games in a row.
