How to make “Easy, Healthy and Nutritious Meals on a Budget” will be the topic for the next LifeForward workshop offered by Zonta Club of the SCV from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22.
The workshops, offered free to local women, have been on hiatus for a few months while Zonta sought a new location where they could offer childcare. The workshops are now scheduled at Desert Streams Church, 26873 Ruether Avenue in Canyon Country.
Free childcare for pre-registered participants will be provided by Single Mothers Outreach, which has recently relocated to the same complex.

Nutritionist Susan Prier will present the Jan. 22 workshop and help participants arm themselves with information and tools to make good decisions about meal choices. The workshop will cover such topics as ways to “sneak” healthy foods into home-cooked meals, how to avoid unhealthful “fast food” as a quick alternative at the end of a busy day, and how women can guide their families onto a healthy, nutritious and delicious eating track.
The presentation will explore ways to feed a family interesting and inexpensive meals, with minimal effort and time. It will teach ways to apply nutrition basics to put the family on a solid health footing, and help turn meal preparation into a “family experience” creating lasting memories.
