Popular restaurant Le Chene will celebrate its 30th anniversary on September 8. Noted for its wide-ranging menu items prepared in a classic French style and extensive wine list, Le Chene combines fine dining with a unique taste of history.
Located in Agua Dulce, the iconic restaurant is surrounded by centennial oaks and historic landmarks, including Vasquez Rocks, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Owner Juan Alonso is proud of the restaurant's history and looks forward to celebrating its 30th anniversary. While the surrounding areas have many dining choices, Juan knows that his restaurant offers a dining experience unrivalled.
"Our loyal customers know that dining at Le Chene is more than just the enjoyment of the highest quality food," said Alonso, "Diners can enjoy views of the canyons and oak trees, still resembling that of a time past."

In honor of the anniversary, a historical glimpse into the story of The Oaks and Le Chene will be presented by Paul Grey, and will include such dates as Mint Canyon Road becoming known as US Hwy. 6 in 1921 and the 1971 Steven Spielberg feature-film, "Duel,” where Le Chene's stone building was filmed as "Chuck's Café.” It was in 1980 when Juan opened his French restaurant and named it "Le Chene".
Le Chene offers an array of appetizers, main courses, wild game and seafood. Their banquet department caters to groups of all sizes delivering a memorable culinary experience in a one-of-a-kind setting. They are open seven nights a week for dinner and for brunch on Sunday.
