Beginning Monday, January 18, the City of Santa Clarita will begin its street sweeping schedule for winter, spring and summer, with all City streets swept once per month. The monthly schedule will continue until the fall, with the remainder of the City's scheduled street sweeping services continuing unchanged.
Per the street sweeping contract the schedule is as follows: the City's trail system and main arterial streets such as Soledad Canyon Road, McBean parkway, Newhall Avenue, Golden Valley Road and more will be swept once per week. All City medians and City-owned or leased parking lots with 25 or more parking spaces will continue to be swept once per month, all residential streets will be swept monthly.
"The City's fall street sweep schedule required that all City streets be swept once per week to keep streets clear of abundant fallen leaves. The monthly schedule will continue to provide community members with optimal sweeping services appropriate for the seasons," said Mayor Laurene Weste.
Residents looking to find out when their streets will be swept may contact the Environmental Services Division at (661) 286-4098 or visit the City's website at santa-clarita.com.
