What's your family's traditional festive film ?
December is here and just as KHTS has shifted into festive music mode to spread the holiday spirit, the TV lineup is going koo-koo for Kris Kringle. That jolly old elf and the rest of your favorite holiday characters are taking over your set with new Christmas specials and old classics rolled out in one merry marathon after another.
You know the old stories of Macy's miracles and how an angel earns his wings. You can recite every line of the Grinch in perfect tempo with Boris Karloff. And still every year we watch. Repetition can never dull the magic or the message of our favorite holiday movies. And so annually we plop down together in front of the TV to laugh and quote and cry with the Peanuts gang, or Mickey and his friends, or even the citizens of Halloweentown.
Which brings us to an interesting question:
What film for your family simply rings in the season?
(And on top of that, why? Someone must know the reason.)
Do you kick it old-school, Bedford Falls-style?
Or does a top-hatted Great Gonzo bring you a smile?
Perhaps a sci-fi adventure is more your (light)speed?
And Santa Claus Conquers the Martians just fills you with glee.
So whatever your pleasure when the holidays come round,
Please send us an e-mail. (Don't wait, do it now!)
We'll whip up a Big List of these great festive flicks,
And you'll learn how our hometown gets its holiday kicks.
