Members of the Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team are combing the wash near Live Oak Springs Road in Castaic, where scent dogs picked up a possible scent from Brigette Kennemore, an 18-year-old Valencia High student who went missing Monday, Oct. 26.

The dogs were in the area Friday, beginning their quest where Kennemore was last seen when she got off a Santa Clarita Transit bus at Cambridge Avenue and Hasley Canyon Road.

"They found scent in several areas, but the dogs cannot search in the wash, so we've got the quad runners (off-road vehicles) and the Search and Rescue team," said Lt. Lewis of the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff's station. He added that a helicopter will be joining the search.

Kennemore is of legal age, but her parents said she has a disability which could affect her decision-making capacity. Anyone with information as to her whereabouts is asked to call the Missing Persons Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
