Historical Society prepares holiday fun
Another Halloween is on its way, and the Santa Clarita Historical Society is preparing Downtown Newhall and William S. Hart Park to be the site of fun and phantasmagoria this October.
At dusk on October 17, the dead will rise to stagger down Main St. for the Old Town Newhall Zombie March. The Zombie March is put on with cooperation from and begins at Brave New World Comics and will include a canned food drive for the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry. During the march, "Zombies" may also stop in front of the Canyon Theatre Guild to do the "Thriller" dance and take a stab at breaking the record for number of dancers performing.
The Old Town Newhall Halloween Parade will scare through town on October 24, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Parade participants and spectators will end up at William S. Hart Park, where the Heritage Haunt Pumpkin Festival will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Festival-goers will enjoy :
• Eight shows
• Live Music and 2 deejays
• Pumpkin Carving Contest with 200 free pumpkins
All shows and events free to the public.
