The Oxnard City Golf Championships belong to a couple players from the Santa Clarita Valley.
Ryan Weltig, a West Ranch High School graduate and a student at College of the Canyons, won the men’s championship with a 3-under par 141 in the two-day tournament over the weekend at the River Ridge golf course.
Ashley Redmond, a Hart High graduate, won the women’s championship by one shot and a two day total of 157.
Weltig finished in a tie with Andrew Perez and needed a one-hole playoff to capture the men’s championship.
Redmond, a senior at Morehead State University, had an eagle and shot a 2-over par 74 on the second day of the tournament.
"It was tough, but I played solid," said Redmond. "The eagle putt I made on 13 was a tough downhill slider. It was a big putt."
