During Council comments Tuesday night, Santa Clarita City Councilman Bob Kellar revealed that he would like to propose a change to the City logo.

Kellar’s idea is that the City incorporate the words “In God We Trust” in their logo.

In a time where being politically correct seems to be the norm for governmental agencies, Kellar says that there are many communities including such language.

He cited that, along with Council member Laurene Weste, he witnessed a massive celebration in the city of Victorville when they installed those words on their City logo. He also said he was surprised to learn that other cities like Bakersfield have done the same.

Kellar was successful in receiving unanimous approval to bring the issue back to the Council in the near future as part of an agenda item.

At Kellar’s request, the Council will vote on whether or not to bring the issue before voters in next April’s City Council election. Public input will be sought at the Council meeting at which the agenda item appears.

The City Council sent a controversial bicycle ordinance back to the drawing board Tuesday night. Find out what went wrong. [4]
