Midday Robbery Leaves Liquor Store Owner Empty-handed [1]

Canyon Country liquor store held up by man with gun who fled scene on foot.

An early afternoon armed robbery had deputies running near
the intersection of

Soledad Canyon Road

and
Sierra Highway
.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m.,
a man with a gun relieved the owner of Art’s Liquor Store on

Soledad
Canyon Road
of “a lot of cash” and his wallet.

Sgt. Derrick Valentine told KHTS that the suspect, who was
described as a male black was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants
and fled the scene running toward

Sierra Highway
.
The suspect is reportedly 5’ 4” and weighs approximately 150 pounds.

Although deputies surrounded and searched the area immediately
after the incident, the suspect has eluded capture.

Valentine said that the liquor store owner was not reported
to be injured.
