Fatal Crash Near Paradise Ranch Road [1]

Man dies after losing control of vehicle, plunging 150 feet over side of road.

A man was killed this morning in an off-road accident in a Jeep crash near Pyramid Lake, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The man, who appeared to be about 25 years old, was killed in an off- road use area north of Castaic. The nearest landmark was Templin Highway at Paradise Ranch, CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos said.

Officers got a call from a local resident at 4:32 a.m. reporting the accident, Villalobos said, adding that it appeared to be a single-vehicle accident.

CHP officers were working to determine what happened in this unincorporated area of Los Angeles County and no further details were immediately available.
