Hope Wines dedicated portion of profits to health causes.
In observance of National Women's Healthcare Month and in celebration of Mother's Day, Vino 100 has partnered with Hope Wine during the month of May to raise awareness of women's health issues and engage people in the fight against breast cancer by offering an award-winning coastal California Chardonnay that benefits two great causes: Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center.
Hope Wine, a unique charitable wine label, donates 50 percent of its profits towards the fight against Breast Cancer, AIDS and Autism. Each varietal of Hope Wine's product line backs a different cause, with its label boldly showing the support ribbon for the following: Chardonnay benefits breast cancer, Merlot promotes AIDS awareness, and Cabernet Sauvignon supports autism awareness. Semi-annually, the company donates 50% of their profits to partnered charities.
"Our goal is to provide the average wine drinker a great wine at a great value while giving the consumer the opportunity to support a great cause," said Jake Kloberdanz, founder and CEO of Hope Wine in a company statement. All wines have won awards and are produced and bottled in the heart of Sonoma County by Hope Wine's partnered winery Sonoma Wine Company.
The Orange County-based wine company launched less than a year ago in Costa Mesa has already donated over $40,000 to various charities across the country. By partnering with retailers, such as Vino 100, the company projects to donate over $300,000 by the end of this year and over $900,000 by the end of 2009, according to a company news release.
Vino 100 features Hope Wine's coastal California Chardonnay in May benefiting the wine's partnered charity: Susan G. Komen for the Cure. In addition, Vino 100 Valencia will donate 10 percent of Hope Wine Chardonnay sales during May to the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center located on the campus of the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia.
Vino 100, a unique specialty wine store, offers its customers a comfortable, affordable and fun way to buy wines by offering over 100 different labels all affordably priced. Hope Wine is one of Vino 100's featured wines this month. "This is a great opportunity for Vino 100 to support Hope Wine and their partnered charities during Women's Healthcare Month and just in time for Mother's Day," said Lil Lepore, co-owner of Vino 100's Valencia location. "We're excited that when customers purchase Hope Wine's Chardonnay during the month of May, they are not only contributing to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, but they are also supporting a local cause: the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center, which provides quality care and cancer detection services within our own community."
"The message carried by Hope Wine is an effective way to engage people in the fight to defeat breast cancer. The funds raised by Hope Wine for Susan G. Komen for the Cure is one more way to advance our work serving people and saving women's lives," said Lisa Wolter, executive director for Susan G. Komen For the Cure's Orange County affiliate. "When Hope Wine is served, people take notice!"
Future Hope Wine promotions at Vino 100 Valencia include Autism Awareness in August featuring a Cabernet Sauvignon to benefit partner charity ACT TODAY! and Merlot during September benefiting Hope Wine's partner charity AIDS/Lifecycle.
