Hart senior running back Delano Howell has been named this weeks Lockheed Federal Credit Union Player of the Week. Howell rushed for 269 yards and four touchdowns in the Indians 37-6 defeat of Newbury Park in the CIF-SS Northern Division semifinals on Friday night. The Indians will try for their first division championship in more than five years as they take on the number one seed, St. Bonaventure in the Northern Division Championship game. Former Los Angeles Dodgers’ owner Walter O’Malley has been elected to the Hall of Fame by the Veteran’s Committee. O’Malley owned the Dodgers when the team moved from Brooklyn to Los Angeles and O’Malley also singed Jackie Robinson’s first contract, helping to integrate baseball.
The UCLA Bruins have fired head football coach Karl Dorrell. Dorrell was 35-27 while with the Bruins. UCLA will take on BYU in the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 22nd.
The Los Angeles Kings lost to the Edmonton Oilers, 4-3, in a shootout last night. The Kings will travel to Phoenix to take on the Coyotes on Wednesday night, and all of the action can be heard live at 6pm on KHTS.
