A ribbon cutting ceremony for the 32,000 square foot, $18.7 million, Aliso Laboratory and Lecture Hall was held yesterday at the Valencia campus of College of the Canyons.
The ribbon cutting was followed by classroom and laboratory demonstrations by faculty members.
Funded through money from the state and local Measure C funds, the building will house the biology; physics/astronomy; allied health; chemistry; engineering and the Math, Engineering, Science, Achievement (MESA) program.
Mrs. Michele Jenkins, President of the college’s Board of Trustees, Ms. Sally Didrickson, Division Dean, Mathematics and Sciences, and Dr. Dianne Van Hook, Superintendent-President of COC spoke at the event.
