Seventy of SCV’s movers and shakers are taking political road trip.
On Monday, May 14th, seventy Santa Clarita residents, business owners, city officials and educators will board a bus headed for Sacramento.
On the agenda is a full set of meetings with state legislators and representatives from various state agencies.
United behind select topics, the “road trippers” plan to use their time well, and advocate for issues that are important to the City of Santa Clarita and its residents.
The bus leaves early Monday morning, and after a five to six hour drive, the group will immediately get down to business, with opening remarks by Assemblyman Cameron Smyth.
Following Smyth, a meeting with Assemblyman Bennoit is scheduled.
Throughout the whirlwind two day trip, the group will meet with Governor Schwarzenegger’s Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Affairs Secretary Chris Kahn, State Senators George Runner and Tom McClintock, Assemblymen Feuer, Krekorian, and Portantino, Cal Trans Director Will Kempton and Department of Education Legislative Director Andrea Ball.
Expect a full report on the outcome of the trip on hometownstation.com soon after the group returns.
