Jeff opened the show this time in Arif’s absence, with their co-host Mark Murphy. They first began the show speaking about the impact of having a family, with children going to college. How does one save their money? How can someone live below their means while accumulating money for the future? Mark Murphy helped answer some of these questions by elaborating, if your bills are 110% of your income, you cannot live below your means. Far too many individuals are succumbing to massive amounts of debt, and this is a huge factor. Asking one’s self “do I have the funds to supply my life style  for the next 30 years? Maybe even 60 years?” is a benchmark necessary in one’s life in order to live comfortably. They next discussed pensions, 401(k)s, IRAs and how to protect them. The bigger picture is saving and automating their money, while removing the risk. It is really an art form, and to avoid missing the boat, one should make a safer choice by seeking a professional like Total Financial Solutions. Jeff also notes an easy way to shrink risk, is to simply have more than one source of income.
