The Real Side with Joe Messina airs on AM-1220 KHTS Monday through Friday from 2pm-3pm. Not the right side, not the wrong side, it’s The Real Side with Joe Messina.
Joe Messina talked today about the black community being drawn to the Democratic Party. To talk about this subject he asked Reverend Wayne Perryman who is a former newspaper publisher, radio talk show host and corporate employee.
Perryman said this:
“Let me put it this way. There was a guy that I went to school with who wondered why this pretty girl would never go out with him. And then he realized after they graduated and she was married they went to their class reunion, he found out the only reason she didn’t go out with him was because he didn’t ask.

“When you look at the Republican Party as George Bush said in 2004 to the NAACP, he said ‘Republicans ignore the black vote, while the Democrats take the black vote for granted.’ And that is so true. The biggest difference between the Democrats and the Republicans is that the Democrats will talk to blacks and the Republicans ignore blacks. If you want to date the pretty girls, you need to start a relationship and talk to her if it means that much to her to date her.
“Republicans are kind of wimps. They don’t stand up for themselves and they don’t defend themselves very well. The stereotype that the Republican Party has of blacks is from the media and the media tells them that the blacks don’t like them. And the republicans believe the media and they just won’t reach out to talk to them.”
