Life Leadership with Alex Urbina – October 28, 2013

On today’s show Alex sits down and talks with teachers from Mission View Charter School about today’s youth and how teenagers are growing in a new digital and new era of life and meeting teens where they are at in today’s world.

In today’s society with technology all around us, we have to evolve not only teaching but parenting as well.

My daughter was doing her homework one day with her headphones on listening to music and I stopped and asked her if she or actually how she can focus on her work while listening to music, Alex said. She told me that it gets her in the zone and actually focuses more with music.

So, I took it as a chance to embrace the technology rather than going away from it and it works wonders.

Often parents look at the symptoms of a child or teen that make parents question or even aware that there might be something wrong.

How students take care of themselves can be the root of cause of them “acting out.” We are able to see the teen through a different lens and we can work with the student and their parents on a positive outcome for everyone.
