The City of Santa Clarita Valley Spotlight Show – March 15, 2013
Janine Prado, Human Services Administrator Community Services Division, stopped by and talked to Perry Smith about the program. Prado just wants to make sure that our youth is informed about the drug problem in the Santa Clarita Valley and also about the danger of drugs.
“DFYIT” (Drug Free Youth in Town) is a new anti-drug program to Santa Clarita. DFYIT is a free, school-based, voluntary, anti-drug Club for high school teens. In DFYIT, teens thrive, drug free, in a Club run by kids, for kids.
The goal of the DFYIT program is to provide a positive peer network that supports healthy choices and a drug-free lifestyle.
Mayor Bob Kellar was also in studio and he went over a myriad of issues for everyone to consider here in the Santa Clarita Valley. Mayor Kellar spoke about possible annexations, the water in our valley, the importance of filming in our community and many other city issues.
