Welcome back to families in action. We where planning to have some clients come in but they backed down last minuet. We have an opportunity to work with the school district with an alternative to suspension program we have been working on, they are all first time offenders and they are all involved with drugs. Lately we have noticed that everywhere we go, heroin is involved. And we know that heroin kills but all drugs kill, it has been very rare that a kid will start with heroin.

Our message that heroin kills is getting out there and helping a lot, but lately I was talking to some kids and they were saying that they know heroin kills, him and all of his friends are afraid of it, so they just stick to meth. So lately we have been getting a lot of calls again for meth. Meth was huge a few years ago, it never went away, but it is making a big come back. After the big media attention that meth kills, people started to leave meth, and then they joined with pain killers then moved to heroin. Now that everyone is focusing on the fact that heroin kills, people are moving back to meth. I think that methamphetamine is one of the worst drugs in history. The immediate fatality rates of meth are not as high but the insanity levels are off the chart. Another thing wrong with it is that in every batch there are the same chemicals as rat poison in meth, and this is what our kids are using, and even some adults. Meth and Heroin and opiates are what we call drugs of opportunity, because people say they will never try hard drugs. But they will try and light up a cigarette, then they will try some weed, next thing they know they are at a party and a little drunk and we start lousing our reasoning.
