It’s All About the Music and the West of JONI HARMS

This award winning songwriter, performer, and entertainer, Joni Harms, chats with Nancy, Bobbi Jean, Julie, and Andrew about her longtime roots in Canby, Oregon and how life on the family owned ranch and farm have impacted her music and outlook on life. She shares the back story to her newest CD, Harms Way, dedicated to her parents, John and Anna Harms. Joni’s roots are tied to this special piece of land and the lessons learned there – it’s been a family run cattle and horse ranch and Christmas tree farm since 1872.

Joni announces exciting news! She just returned from a trip to Ireland, Norway, and Sweden. The highlight of this trip was the recording of her newest CD, “From Oregon to Ireland” expected to be released this fall. This highly anticipated 2 CD set was recorded live while performing in Ireland and will feature the most popular titles from her song catalog. She’ll be taking off for another tour of Australia and New Zealand shortly.

Joni’s shares the back story behind the tracks we play – with special attention to “Saddle Blanket,” “Buddy and Me,” “Coyote’s Yodel” (with daughter Olivia), and title track “Harms Way.” Articulate, enthusiastic, charming, sincere and authentic – you’ll enjoying hearing Joni share about what inspires her, her thoughts on the West and the stories she shares, and her obvious love for God, family, music, and her fans.

Among Joni’s many accomplishments are the recording of eleven CDs and the writing of 2 charming books, in addition she was named:
2012 Western Swing Female Performer of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists
2003 Western Music Association Female Performer of The Year
2003 Western Music Association Song of The Year – “Cowboy Up” (recorded by Chris LeDoux)
2002 Entertainer of The Year by the Academy of Western Artists
Joni has been a headliner at the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival and was one of the,“The Cowgirls,” (along with Eli Barsi and Doris Daley) who performed at OutWest’s very first in store concert in Aug. 2009.
