It’s All About National Day of the Cowboy
Announcement: Follow us on Facebook – Around The Barn Radio Show new page posted Monday!

We celebrate the National Day of the Cowboy with Bill Lindsay, grandson of Stuart Hamblen, the first “cowboy” on live radio in 1926, WBAP, Fort Worth. Bill, a frequent guest on the show, brings us up to date with the latest news – Stuart Hamblen was inducted in the Southern Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame Oct. 3, 2012 and the Walk of Western Stars in Old Town Newhall this year, April 18, 2013 during the SENSES event. He shares more fun history – tune in to hear about the first rodeo in Los Angeles! To celebrate Stuart’s love for Texas and Western lifestyle we play music from his Country CD.

Mary Kaye Knaphus calls in from Nashville where she is visiting with her daughter and son-in-law and her first grandchild! We catch up with her too – she’s has a busy year traveling and performing in 15 states and Canada, releasing a new CD, and picking up awards and accolades along the way! She shares the back stories of all the songs we play and what inspires her. We enjoy several tracks from the new CD The Dawn and The Dusk.

This is the same fun, fast paced hour you’ve come to expect from the Around The Barn team – including a few technical glitches! Just a reminder…we are live!

Tune into the podcast for the whole show!
