About our Call-In Guest Royal Wade Kimes:
Royal Wade joined us in the studio calling in from icy, cold Nashville, TN. We enjoyed an hour of conversation and music from 2 of his many recordings, the Christmas CD “Snow” and his newest CD “A Proud Land.” Royal Wade’s original songs tell the story of the West, the Civil War, cowboys, outlaws, lawmen, family, faith and horses. Articulate, authentic and sincere, he shares from his heart.

Royal Wade Kimes is considered by many in the entertainment world today as a prolific writer both in song and novel platforms, as well as a top performer with a voice reminiscent of the crooners of yesterday. Before becoming a recording artist and author of western novels he was the highest paid staff writer on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee.

Eddy Arnold gave him his start while Johnny Cash encouraged him to stay true to himself, and James Arness congratulated him in letter for his success and determination in beating the system.

He has graced the cover of magazines like True West, Shooting Sports and Horseman’s Roundup to name a few. He has won numerous awards for his writings, recordings and performing works. Royal Wade has shared the stage with the likes of Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Powers Booth, Trace Atkins, and many more. His film “Dixie Burns” which he directed and starred in was given a five star status rating by the industry music critics in Music City and HD/Film Specialist of Hollywood.

About his newest CD, “A Proud Land”
“A Proud Land” is the first of its kind in theme. It begins with the Civil War and then takes you to the outlaw days of the west…and without realizing, the listener will find they have drifted across the plains on wagons going west with “Wagon Train.”

Not only does this CD contain the soundtrack to “Dixie Burns”, it continues through the legend of Jesse James and a cowboy’s unbreakable bond with his best friend, his horse. “Dixie Burns” is a powerful story of a soldier returning home from a civil war thatseemingly would not end. Each song tells its own story about the soldier’s journey, his memories of home, and his thoughts of the comrades he lost during the war.

This CD album of music is powerful and entertaining from the first to last cut. That can be said of many records…the difference here is, this collection of songs is like watching a movie in music, and the last cut, “Run Wild”, about a man and his horse, is one of Kimes’ finest moments in writing and performance…subsequently, very believable.
