Family Focus Resource and Empowerment Center’s mission is to help families of kids with special needs or who think their child may need additional help. Whether at home or school, the Family Focus Resource and Empowerment Center is funded by the Department of Education and the California Department of Developmental Services.
Providing parent-to-parent support is very important. Each staff member is a parent of a child with special needs. Their role is to provide parents help from the parent’s perspective. The Family Focus Resource and Empowerment Center shows parents how to navigate the system and get help for their kids. They work directly with parents, connecting them to available services in the community, including educational services or services that are need in the home. Parents of children in need of behavioral therapy are guided through insurance and other things of that nature.
