Welcome to Alive and Well here on your Hometown Station, AM 1220 KHTS. I am Karena, here with my co-host Crystal Lacy Edwads. Surprise! I told the listeners last week that you would not be here. Ya, my traveling schedule is complicated, I am sorry. I had definitely been challenging working all around the country seeing patients, but it is rewarding work. A lot of places around the country do not have Pilates or Pilates therapy. I hate to admit it, be we are your last resort. We are like the step before you poke your eyes out. I understand that feeling. Pilates was the last resort for me, now I am a pilates instructor. It is a reality that when we hurt, our first call is some healthcare practitioner, and then if that does not work then we call a physical therapist. Normally that helps a lot of people out, but if you are one of the ones that are still in pain and need more, I urge you to keep looking, please. There are a lot of answers out there for you. Also at the studio, the melt method has been taking everyone by storm in the last month or so.

But really the topic we want to talk about is gas, and friends, or lack of, because you have gas. Here is the thing, we have a lot of myths about gas that we want to debunk. First of all is that beans, vegetables, and milk cause gas, and that is a myth. The thing is that they can cause gas if you are not used to those things, especially if you are lactose intolerant. If you are not used to eating healthy then vegetables and beans will cause problems. I remember someone had talked about cleansing your insides by eating just fruit for two or three days. I don’t remember what it was supposed to do, but all it did was put me in extreme pain because my body was not used to that much fiber. So be careful on increasing you fiber intake.
