Rock-pop songwriting legend Jesse Barish premieres a set of brand-new material for the first time on TV as special guest on the next all-new edition of “House Blend,” the WAVE award-nominated music-and-interview program on Santa Clarita's SCVTV hosted by veteran music journalist Stephen K. Peeples, ecncoring Saturday, April 13 at 10 p.m. Pacific Time.
Barish, whose catalog includes more than 1,400 songs — among them the BMI million-played hits “Count on Me” and “Hearts” — accompanies himself on piano and harmonica and sings “Save Me” from his latest solo album, “Selling Fire in July,” plus three brand-new songs he hasn’t even recorded: "Play it One More Time,” “Valley of a Thousand Dreams” and “Georgia Rain.”
This "House Blend" show also marks the world TV premiere of all four new songs.

A “House Blend” favorite, Barish is making his third appearance on the show. He guested early in Season 1and in Season 2 [no longer available due to technical difficulties]. His Season 3 appearance is the first in which he accompanies himself on electric piano instead of acoustic guitar.
Between performances,“House Blend” host Peeples talks with Barish about the artist's upbeat new “Selling Fire in July” album, and recording it with Barish's longtime collaborator/producer, multi-instrumentalist Jeff Pescetto.
A longtime resident of Venice Beach, Barish also gets into some fascinating personal history, including growing up in South Brooklyn and Miami Beach; landing in San Francisco in the early ‘60s; his first recording deal with Denny Cordell’s Shelter Records in the early ‘70s; meeting Marty Balin and Jefferson Starship, who recorded Barish’s “Hearts” and “Count on Me,” respectively; the story behind “St. Charles,” another Starship song Barish wrote with the band’s co-founder Paul Kantner; and lots more.
Find out more about Barish at his website, www.jessebarish.com. “Selling Fire in July” and the rest of his solo catalog are available there as well as via iTunes, CDBaby and Amazon.com.
