Woman Escapes Alleged Attacker

A Saugus woman bashed her alleged attacker’s head with a shovel as he tried to stuff her in the trunk of her own car Sunday evening in Saugus, enabling her to escape.

The man,who might have raped the woman, fled on foot.  The suspect, described as an unshaven Hispanic man in a brown shirt & blue jeans, was last seen leaving the rural area in the 18400 block of Vasquez Canyon Road, near Bouquet Canyon Roads, about 7:20pm.
