  • Governor is proposing a substantial $11 billion in new debt repayment over 2012-13 and 2014-15 and of this amount he proposes to immediately repay over $6 billion in school district deferrals and eventually paying off the “wall of debt” by 2017-18.
  • The Legislative Analyst’s Office recommends that we save $5 billion of the unexpected surplus by the end of 2014-15, and $8 billion by the end of 2016-17 to buffer against the next recession and the end of the Proposition 30 tax increases.
