Life Leadership with Alex Urbina – March 31, 2014

Welcome to Life Leadership with your host Alex Urbina on your Hometown Station, AM 1220 KHTS.

Alex wants to start the show by wishing his mother a happy 65th birthday!

The greatest gift Alex shares with his mother is the ability to express the love they have with each other. Many times people who are close with each other feel like the love is understood and is never said. We need to express our love to each other.

Everything we do is based on relationships, but there is no school for relationships. We learn relationships from our parents, our surroundings, and our experiences. We are in relations with everything and we need to learn to change our relationship to a way that is positive for us.

Many people have the wrong view on marriage and relationships. We believe that if we fall in love the relationship will manifest itself and it will be easy, or that you will be married to the same version of your spouse as the one you dated, not expecting them to ever change, and none of this is true.

A lot of times when someone isn’t happy in a relationship, they become the victim. Either putting all the blame on themselves and leaving relationships, or only blaming others.

Many times, people will not take 100 percent of the responsibility, Alex coaches people to take 200 percent of the responsibility, my 100% and your 100% instead of the 50% we think should be. We need to learn that we are only bringing me to the relationship, and we need to work on ourselves to better the relationship. That is how we can handle the other persons growth in a relationship. It is a lot of enrolment and people learning to believe in each other.
