Life Leadership with Alex Urbina – June 23, 2014
On today’s show Host Alex Urbina and co-host Wendy Amara sit down and talk with SCVi Charter School about leadership and teen life leadership.
How do you develop leaders? How can you get your students to become leaders and take on a leadership role.
As, I think about it, everyone has the answers in them but you have to challenge yourself and allow yourself the ability to look in and be confident to be that leader and come up with the answers or solutions yourself for whatever the situation may be, Alex said.
At SCVi, we try to direct our learners to find the answers themselves and learn from mistakes and shut off that inner voice that tells us to run when faced when a challenge and grow, a SCVi Facilitator said.
If you are afraid to do the work that needs to be done to become a leader than some self-confidence is not there. But ha is great at SCVi is that the learners are willing and able to say they do not know an answer but aren’t afraid to say so and then they will go find it out.
