The Gazette Radio Hour- Friday, March 7, 2014

Everyone who knows about the Santa Clarita Valley Gazette and Free Classifieds, knows that Doug Sutton likes to rant. In fact, Doug has to rant - in a weird and wacky fashion, he risks falling into an emotional fallout if he does not rant. Knowing that, it must take a revolutionary experience or revelatory individual to make Doug Sutton skip his weekly rant. And that person is none other than Ed Bernstein, President of the 25 Score Club. Ed Bernstein is a local business owner, and he along with several business owners in the Santa Clarita Valley have made a triumphant stand against the rise of new giant digital billboards which Clear Channel and Metro has been monstrously attempting to erect alongside popular freeway exits in the community. While it has not been 100% shut down, the small business owners of the Santa Clarita Valley flexed their muscle because they knew that it is valuable money  being spent on unnecessary expenditures which could be used more beneficially in several other areas of the community. This billboard issue is huge deal, because the city of Santa Clarita does not want to get sued by Metro or Clear Channel for tearing the billboards down. There is so much legal wordage and defense and offense lawyer speak that is tied into this issue, that John Rogers invited another guest on the show to dissect the hard facts. Another bombshell guest, the one and only City Councilman TimBen Boydston. TimBen has been following the process of the billboards and shed some light on his experience on the process, which can be quite distressing when you really analyze the details. After the initial serious guests, they had some fun with Ben Oakley, Perry Smith, and Mr. Sports
