Aging With Power with host Myles McNamara! -8/5/14
On todays show host Myles McNamara speaks with Jennifer MacDowell and Cathie-Ann Lippman, M.D. about Genetically Modified Organisms, also known as GMO’s. GMO’s are an organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. Organisms that have been genetically modified include microorganisms such as bacteria and yeast, insects, plants, fish, and mammals. GMOs are the source of genetically modified foods and are also widely used in scientific research and to produce goods other than food. They also touch on Bacillus thuringiensis is a Gram-positive, soil-dwelling bacterium, commonly used as a biological pesticide. B. thuringiensis also occurs naturally in the gut of caterpillars of various types of moths and butterflies, as well on leaf surfaces, aquatic environments, animal feces, insect-rich environments, and flour mills and grain-storage facilities. They also talk about purchasing all natural foods when shopping at the grocery store. They give us some great tips to help you find natural foods easier in the grocery store.
