Brush Fire Knocked Down At Smokey Bear Road

Los Angeles County firefighters made quick work of a brush fire that broke out Saturday afternoon near Pyramid Lake.
The fire was reported at 3:20 p.m. just east of Interstate 5, south of Smokey Bear. It spread to 2 or 3 acres in gusty 5mph winds.
The right two lanes of northbound Interstate 5 were closed due to heavy smoke.

The active flames were knocked down at 3:47 p.m.
A Fire Department chopper remained on scene to monitor the mop-up due to gusty wind conditions.
