Billy Elliot The Musical To Make LA Debut At Pantages In April
“Billy Elliot the Musical,” the 2009 Tony Award-winner for Best Musical, will make its Los Angeles premiere at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood for a limited five-week run from April 10 to May 13.
The announcement was made by NETworks Presentations, LLC, Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions and Broadway/L.A.

Based on the international smash-hit film, “Billy Elliot the Musical” features music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry.
“Billy Elliot the Musical” has earned critical acclaim on Broadway including 10 Tony Awards. The Pantages Theatre is located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard, just east of Vine Street, and the box office opens daily at 10am.
“Billy Elliot the Musical” is the joyous celebration of one boy’s journey to make his dreams come true. Set in a small town, the story follows Billy as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class, discovering a surprising talent that inspires his family and his whole community and changes his life forever.

The production has been awarded 81 national and international awards including 10 Tony Awards, Best Musical by the New York Drama Critics Circle, Drama Desk, Drama League and Outer Critics Circle.
“Billy Elliot the Musical” features Ty Forhan, Kylend Hetherington, Zach Manske and J.P. Viernes in the role of ‘Billy.’ Also featured are Leah Hocking (Mrs. Wilkinson); Rich Hebert (Dad); Patti Perkins (Grandma); Cullen Titmas (Tony); Joel Blum (George); Cameron Clifford and Jacob Zelonky (Michael); and Samantha Blaire Cutler (Debbie).
Rounding out the company are Madison Barnes, Michael Biren, Damien Brett, Sasha Ely-Judkins, Tim Funnell, Richard Gatta, Susan Haefner, Regan Mason Haley, Christopher M. The production features scenic design by Ian MacNeil, associate direction by Julian Webber, costume design by Nicky Gillibrand, lighting design by Rick Fisher and sound design by Paul Arditti. Musical supervision and orchestrations are by Martin Koch. Touring production direction is by Justin Martin and choreography by Kathryn Dunn.
The performance schedule for Billy Elliot the Musical is Tuesday through Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm & 8pm, and Sunday at 1pm & 6:30pm. Opening Night is Thursday April 12th at 8pm.
“Billy Elliot the Musical” has a running time of 2 hours and 50 minutes including intermission and is recommended for ages 8 and up; features some adult language. (Please note that in consideration of audiences, no one under 5 will be admitted to the theatre.)
