First Floor Gallery Features Black And White Exhibit

BWGFirstFloorGalleryResizedThe City of Santa Clarita is showcasing artwork submitted by local and regional artists as part of the Black and White exhibit, located in the First Floor Gallery at City Hall through Friday, April 13.

The community is invited to enjoy this exhibit and attend a free reception in recognition of participating artists at City Hall from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, February 8.

The exhibit displays black and white artwork of various subjects and styles including: traditional, contemporary, abstract, surreal and conceptual art.

BWGYoungGirlSitting_Resized“It’s remarkable to see the diversity of concepts and creativity in the Black and White exhibit, even with the absence of color,” says Mayor Laurie Ender.  “There really is something for every artistic palate in this exhibit, which is the driving force behind the Common Spaces: Art in Public Places campaign.  Our goal is to showcase original, local artwork that inspires thought and provokes the imagination – all while enlivening public spaces.”

The Black and White exhibit is part of the City’s Common Spaces: Art in Public Places program, which provides enriching art experiences through public art galleries in a variety of public spaces for public enjoyment.
