Two performances of the acclaimed patriotic production about a World War II love story will be the last for local non-profit beneficiaries before the musical begins touring in July 2012.
The afternoon matinee performance begins at 3 p.m. and is presented by the Santa Clarita Valley Veterans Memorial Committee. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the committee.

A gala evening performance begins at 7 p.m., with proceeds from ticket sales benefiting Single Mothers Outreach and Bridge to Home (formerly the Santa Clarita Valley Emergency Winter Shelter). Premium orchestra seats are available for the gala and include dinner in a canteen decorated in vintage 1940s style.
Tickets and show information on the two performances are now available at www.wartimeromance.com, where there's a direct link to each non-profit group for ticket purchase.
"Wartime Romance: A Time to Remember" is based on love letter correspondence during WWII between Hackett's mother, Margaret Wolf, who lived in Horton, Kan., and Capt. Tom Johnson, a U.S. Marine dive-bomber pilot, whom Wolf married when he returned home to the States.
"'Wartime Romance' was written to honor our veterans and their families who have given so much to keep us safe," Hackett said. "The message is designed to raise awareness about the courasge of our troops who continue to make sacrifices in the pursuit of freedom."
The play premiered at the Performing Arts Center in 2006, with the help of Santa Clarita Valley Arts grants and Galpin Motors. The run earned rave reviews and standing ovations — not only for its message, but also for its lavish sets and lighting. The uplifting musical selections played by a professional orchestra accompanied high-energy dancing, soulful singing and heart-warming acting.
