The Trade Connect export workshop will take place on January 26, 2012 at the University Center at College of the Canyons from 2:00pm to 5:00 pm. “The SBDC is very pleased to join with the Port of Los Angeles in bringing a free Export Workshop and networking event to our community. We live 90 minutes from the largest port complex in the nation, where business is booming. The Port of LA had its best export month ever in October, with exports up 28 percent over year earlier volumes.  Businesses in the SCV have a significant competitive advantage over businesses in other parts of the country with respect to their close proximity to these ports. This workshop is intended to help businesses take advantage of the huge and growing export market available to our local businesses. Experts from the SBDC and other organizations with export expertise will be available to assist businesses looking to get started or to expand their export traffic. The SBDC is pleased to have the support of other local economic development groups – including VIA, the SCV-EDC, the SCV Latino Chamber and the SCV Chamber - in bringing this event to local businesses” said Steven Tannehill, the Director of the Small Business Development Center at College at the Canyons.

From 2:00 to 2:30 pm you will be able to register and network. Then, from 3:00 to 3:15 a success story will be shared. From 3:15 to 4:30 pm you will be able to hear experts from every corner of the trade and export realms discuss their deep knowledge base of how to make your expanding business a success.
