The permanent fire station officially opened on August 17 and is expected to respond to 1,200 fire and emergency calls per year. The station adds to the growing network of fire stations, providing increased fire protection and emergency medical services to the growing Santa Clarita Valley.

The 3,000 square foot station has room for 10 firefighting personnel as well as three dozer crew members. The two-bay apparatus floor also includes a training room, day room and dormitory. Funding for the new fire station came through developer fees and cost $8.6 million in construction.  In addition, the station has received certification by the US Green Building Council, a leader in energy and environmental design.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department is currently underway in the development of five future fire stations in the Santa Clarita Valley expected to be in service in the next one-to-two years.
