Triumph Foundation Ramps Up Their Assistance
The Triumph Foundation continues to triumph over the challenges of Spinal Cord Injury.
In July, Andrew Skinner, founder of the Triumph Foundation, met a woman named Eileen at Northridge Hospital. She’d felt some numbness and weakening in her legs and discovered she had a tumor on her spinal cord.
“Thankfully, the doctor was able to remove the tumor, but Eileen is still battling some impairment. Her recovery from the paralysis looks optimistic, however she is still fighting her cancer too,” said Skinner.
After discharge Eileen would return home in a wheelchair.
“We got to talking and she was going to have an issue when she went home that she couldn’t get into her front door or into her doorway in her garage. And she would also need help with bathroom modifications,” Skinner said.

Skinner, a quadriplegic, created the Triumph Foundation three years ago with his wife Kirsten to help people in these exact situations.
Using funds from Triumph Foundation donations, Skinner went to Eileen’s home along with volunteer Mark Juarez, owner of the Trademarks in Tile construction company, and helped make her home more wheelchair friendly.
Triumph Foundation was recently recognized by the City of Santa Clarita's City Council for their work to help people with physical disabilities reintegrate back into the community.
“It was an honor to receive this acknowledgment. We love Santa Clarita and that is why we base our operations out of this city. Great place to live, great place to do business,” said Skinner.
The Triumph Foundation conducts a gift basket outreach to hospitals to provide a tool-kit for people who suffer spinal cord injuries.
The also sponsored a few people to participate in Casa Colina’s "Land Meets Sea" outdoor adventure program. Participants got to try adaptive water skiing, sailing, jet-skiing, kayaking, deep sea fishing, hand cycling, and wheelchair sports.
