Getting Rid Of Shower Door Grime With These Unlikely Solutions
After a long Saturday afternoon working in the yard, it would be nice to be able to clean up in a shower that is preferably a lot less grimy than you. Film can easily build up in a blink of an eye and keeping your glass shower door spotless can be a challenge.
It can happen out of nowhere, when you realize that you can no longer see out of your shower door. Soap scum and hard water build up can create a film that is not easily wiped away. Using harsh chemicals to clean the shower door can be damaging to your skin and your wallet if you have to frequently clean the glass. Glass shower doors look great, but can pose as a cleaning challenge for most. There are expensive cleaning methods out there that drain your pocket book, but don’t get the job done. What some people don’t realize is that the most effective cleaning methods lie in their food pantries and dryers.

Surprisingly, one effective way to get rid of built up film is to use a fabric softener sheet. When lightly moistened, the sheet will gently loosen grime and film without scratching the delicate glass. Another cleaning method that might be in your kitchen cabinet is vinegar. Pour one cup of white vinegar and one cup of water, mix together in a spray bottle and just spray and wipe with a soft rag. This homemade solution will remove the tougher grime from the door.
One other interesting cleaning method that you can find in your garage is WD-40. All you need to do is spray WD-40 generously on the inside of a wet or dry shower door, let it sit for approximately five minutes and wipe away with a cloth. Some other effective cleaning methods include; baking soda, Mr. Clean magic eraser wipes, alcohol, Lime-A-Way, CLR and other shower door foaming solutions.
