Banking On Art As A Community Investment
Culminating a three-day “gallery” display of artwork created by members of the Santa Clarita Artists’ Association, Union Bank Vice President Oscar Dominguez will present a $1,000 sponsorship for the upcoming Art Classic Gala at a reception in its Newhall branch at the corner of Lyons and Peachlands Avenues.
The gallery, which will open Wednesday, Sept. 28 and be available to bank customers and art patrons from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Sept. 30, features the works of 22 association members.

The scholarship presentation will be made during an artists’ reception at 5 p.m. Friday, during which the SCAA will give a Spirit of the Arts Certificate of Appreciation to the bank. The public is invited to attend and meet the artists; refreshments will be served.
“This is a great opportunity to partner with a solid banking institution who has always been supportive of community art and our ongoing scholarship program in Santa Clarita Valley,” said Zony Gordon, SCAA president. Union Bank’s involvement with the SCAA is part of their Partnership with the Arts Program.
“Union Bank has been a supportive sponsor of SCAA for several years and we certainly appreciate this exposure for our artists and the bank’s continued participation in the arts,” said Laurie Morgan, SCAA chair of this exhibit.
The Union Bank reception will be at 23620 Lyons Ave, Newhall. For more information on SCAA, visit santaclaritaartists.org or call 661-244-7689.
