Two Injured In Head-On Crash

khts_ambulanceTwo men were injured, one seriously, in a head-on collision on Vazquez Canyon Road west of Burton this morning, causing the road to be closed temporarily.

A 1997 Chevy 1500 pickup driven by Savino Pilarski, 39, of Valencia, was westbound, while Ray Sekerez, 48, of Green Valley, was eastbound when the collision occurred at 5:55 this morning.

“For reasons that are still under investigation, Pilarski lost control of his vehicle, which crossed into the eastbound lanes,” said Officer John Lutz of the California Highway Patrol.

“As (Pilarski) tried to recorrect over the double yellow lines, (Sekerez) tried to avoid him by swerving, and the two trucks collided in the middle of the roadway,” Lutz said.
